Although being a local city, Suwon is located only about 30Km south of Seoul, and able to go by transit train. If it were in Japan, it is somewhere around Kamakura from Tokyo.

2. Korean Folk Village

In a wide spread space, old village of Korea is well reappeared. There may be no other place to know Korean culture better than here. To my regret, I broke the memory card of digital camera in which 100 pictures being taken here were saved, when I tried to transfer the files into the PC. I am sorry that only a part of pictures are available here.
Recently, the location of a big historical drama "Sando" was performed here. It is such a perfect reappeared village.

Outdoor bench is very typical stuff in Korea. As I saw one so often in TV drama and movies of Korea, drinking on the bench is just exciting.


Tongtong-sake's taste is similar to a sweet and clean type of sake in Japan. It's an traditional Korean sake.






Everytime I eat Chijimi of leeks and cuttlefish, I am so satisfied with it taste.














This kind of small historical shows are going on in the village, and we can get back in the old Korea very easily.












A people on the boat is a doll, and the boat is controlled by radio moving its sail drifting around the pond.


I bet you can get back to the world that you have seen in the TV or movies. This is where you should visit!




3. Ruin of the Suwon Castle

The ruin of the Suwon Castle is remained here. A long rampart continues, and impressive to see.

Nowadays, a woman taxi driver is getting common in Korea.

The rampart goes up to a hill making me imagine a ultra small Great Wall in China. Wonderful to see.










All the city is in sight after a little climb.

4. The gourmet in Suwon

Suwon is well known of its Kalbi meat, and we walked and walked to find the best restaurant.

We found a splendid restaurant.
