Album of Daily Life - Market in Nadi Town

In major towns in Viti Levu Island,there is a local market where the vegitables,
fruits, and seafood are sold. The one in Nadi Town is a very big market,
and bunch of people are coming especially on weekends.
There are peoples who are selling at the booth in a good commercial scale,
and are also ladies selling their home products in a rent space on the
ground.
It is so active , and as we can get fresh products at cheap price, it may
be good for your strolling.

The Kava, which no body can miss if he comes in Fiji, a speciall drink
to be replaced to the alcohol occupies the good space of area.
Things being binded are the roots of Kava tree. They are pounded in powder,
and put in a cloth bag to be squeeze out in the water to make a Kava drink.
A box drawn as "Savu Savu Waka" is for pounded powder Kava.
Most of local people buy the roots and pound them everyday at home to get
fresh and tasty Kava drink.

Pounded powder is also sold. (US$15.00 for 1Kg of powder, which is very
expensive for Fjians.)

This is a famous Dalo potato (Taro).
Boil them to eat. This is the principal food in Fiji, together with Cassava
potato.

Fish salesroom is extremely ill-smelling!
There is no cooling system, and no ice etither. Just leave fish on the
counter.

In comparison with the fish available in Japna, they all are very grotesque, and no appetite arises.

Wemen are selling crabs and sea shells on the ground. These crabs seem
to be caught in a river, and taste muddy and no delicious at all.

Eel (conger?) is also availabe. Ate it cooking with soy source, and the taste was nice although they have a little bit nasty smell.
