Viseisei village is the birthplace of Vitilevu island, the main island of Fiji, and it is said that the traditional custom and the dignity have been kept still now. There are many tourists to visit here.
I visited this village that represents Fiji historically. Un fortunately the weather was not good, but there was no preblem to see and enjoy the village.

Bay area which surrounds Viseisei vilalge showed the sea floor due to the low water.

A distant view of the village which faces on the sea.

At high water, the sea comes right below the houses. It is really a village on the coast.

With hesitation, getting in a quiet vilalge.

View from inside of the car. Take a look at houses in the village.

Park the car here, and start taking a walk in the village.

Not surprisingly as a village to welcome tourists, handmade folkcrafts were sold outside.

The tree roots of Kava, from which a typical drink Kava which is something like liquor, although it does not contain any alcohol, were under process being hit and crush.

Here is an alley to the central plaza of the village.

It's a really quiet appearance and the time seems to be passing slowly here.

Houses surrounding the cnetral palza. Good looking houses seem to be public facilities of the village.

A tomb and memorial tower of the ancestor of the village?

A wounderful church.

Looks like a churchman....

A house at the most sea side is locaed just in fron of the water.

Quiet and relaxing...

Very poor houses, but they have thier own charm.

I was getting in a strange feeling with real relaxing feeling. There are people who own cars too.

There is a hole on the ground where the traditional cooking style called lobo. Heat the stones in the hole, and put the meat and vegitables to cover with big tree leaves over to bake them steaming.

A graveyard of the vilalge. A good scale. It shows the long history of this village.

This kid was staring me with out moving at all despite of I was saying Hello to him many times. It was very impressive scene that I never can forget.

Bus on a regular route is comming in to this vilalge, too.

On may way back, I stopped by Buda Point, a harbor near by.

It is a yacht harbor, but the boarts and yachts there are all from Australian or New Zealand.

At the cafeteria of the harbor, I met a cute dog just looks like the same as my dog (Ricardo) that I left back in Japan, (A little black Toy-poodle), and I was really surprised!
In this tropical country, very few people are owning dogs as a pet, and many dogs are owned just as guard dogs without much love. So, it is imposible to see the indoor dogs here.
Why is he here? just looking the same as my Ricardo?
A husnband and wife from Aistrarian owned this dog on the boat for 6 years so far, and they happend to stopped by this harbor.

Oh, Yeah! exactlly the same face as my Ricardo!

So cute! I love this!
Nice visit to Viseisei with a wonderful premium.
